Chicago Illinois-based Attorney Steven Greenberg was originally retained to represent R. Kelly in the New York racketeering case. Then in June of 2021, just five months before the trial, R Kelly suddenly switched his New York legal team. Greenberg during a BNC interview cited the inexperience of R. Kelly’s New York legal team as the reason he was found guilty. In a Prior interview, ( see linked video below at the 3:33 mark) Greenberg told a reporter ” R. Kelly being represented by Nicole [Blank Becker] , and Thomas [Farinella]was like being in a boxing match with both arms tied behind his back.”
