The adage of one man’s trash is another man’s treasure sadly isn’t always true. In most instances, one’s trash is just plain trash. Every year millions of pounds of clothing are discarded and some placed into recycling bins. The used clothing is then shipped off to other countries and placed on the secondary market for resale. Generally, a bale of clothing containing 1,500 to 2,000 garments where 40% is unfit for retail is disposed of onto crowded landfills.
